Mariann Weierich PhD
Dr. Weierich earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Yale University, where she also trained in vision science. Following her internship and NIH postdoctoral fellowship at the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder/VA Boston, and a fellowship in affective neuroscience at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging/Harvard Medical School, she joined the faculty at Hunter College of the City University of New York. She also is a member of the doctoral faculty of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in the Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience program and the Health Psychology & Clinical Science program.
Jenna Rieder BA
Jenna is a sixth year doctoral student in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. She is interested in the systems neuroscience underlying affect and stress, and she is especially interested in the neuroendocrinology of stress. Her dissertation is focused on the interaction of fluctuations in sex and stress hormones and the experience of trauma-related symptoms. Jenna is a member of the CAP Lab Neuro Team, and she joined the lab in Fall 2012. CV
Olena Kleshchova MS
Olena is a fifth year doctoral student in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. She is interested in the neurobiological mechanisms underlying psychopathology, and she also is interested in exploring psychopathology from ethological and evolutionary perspectives. Her dissertation is focused on the effects of early life trauma on brain maturation in the functional connectome measured using resting state imaging. Olena is a member of the CAP Lab Neuro Team and she joined the lab in Spring 2015.
Chris Liong BA
Chris is a first year doctoral student in Health Psychology and Clinical Science. He seeks to explore the intersection of neuroscience and psychology by developing and using biological models to examine clinical questions in psychology. Chris is a member of the CAP Lab Neuro Team and he joined the lab in Fall 2018.
Karly Weinreb BA
Graduate (MA) Research Assistant
Karly graduated from Binghamton University in 2015 with a major in Psychology and joined the CAP Lab in Fall 2017. She is interested in studying psychological manifestations of trauma within the family unit, susceptibility to PTSD development, and individual differences in trauma-related symptoms. Karly plans pursue a PhD in clinical psychology.
Michael Sugarman BS
Graduate (MA) Research Assistant
Michael graduated from Binghamton University with a major in Integrative Neuroscience. He is interested in the physiological and neurobiological mechanisms of mood disorders and how imaging techniques can better illustrate these mechanisms. Michael plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology with an emphasis in clinical neuroscience, and he joined the CAP Lab in August 2017.
Glenn Blessington BA
Graduate (MS) Research Assistant
Glenn graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a major in Psychology and joined the CAP Lab in August 2018. He is interested in the neurobiological underpinnings of psychopathology, with a focus on stress related disorders and the maladaptive coping mechanisms that accompany them. Following his MS in cognitive neuroscience, Glenn plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology.
Danielle Reilly BA
Post-bacc Research Assistant
Danielle is pursuing post-baccalaureate study in Psychology at Hunter College. She has a BA in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder and plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology. She is interested in neural and physiological mechanisms that affect learning, cognition and emotional processing in children, adolescents and young adults. Danielle joined the CAP Lab in August 2017.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Estephanie is a BP ENDURE (Enhancing Neuroscience Diversity Through Undergraduate Research Experiences) Fellow majoring in Psychology at Hunter College. She is interested in the relationship between neural networks and physiological effects associated with PTSD and internalizing mood disorders. Estephanie plans to pursue a PhD in clinical neuroscience, and she joined the CAP Lab in May 2018.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Marieliz is a junior Psychology major at Hunter College. She is interested in the neural and behavioral mechanisms of stress-related disorders and how these mechanisms influence cognition, emotional processes, and psychopathology. Marieliz plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology, and she joined the CAP Lab in August 2018.
