Mariann Weierich PhD
Dr. Weierich earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Yale University, where she also trained in vision science. Following her internship and NIH postdoctoral fellowship at the National Center for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder/VA Boston, and a fellowship in affective neuroscience at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging/Harvard Medical School, she joined the faculty at Hunter College of the City University of New York. She also is a member of the doctoral faculty of the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in the Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience program and the Health Psychology & Clinical Science program.
Annie Seungyeon Yoon MEd
Annie is a sixth year doctoral student in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. She is interested in the neural circuitry underlying normative and maladaptive affective processing in stress and stress-related disorders, and she is also interested in advanced neuroimaging techniques. Her dissertation is focused on the measurement of neural hypervigilance using fMRI and diffusion imaging. Annie is a member of the CAP Lab Neuro Team, and she has been with the lab since 2012.
Jenna Rieder BA
Jenna is a sixth year doctoral student in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. She is interested in the systems neuroscience underlying affect and stress, and she is especially interested in the neuroendocrinology of stress. Her dissertation is focused on the interaction of fluctuations in sex and stress hormones and the experience of trauma-related symptoms. Jenna is a member of the CAP Lab Neuro Team, and she joined the lab in Fall 2012.
Olena Kleshchova MS
Olena is a fourth year doctoral student in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. She is interested in the neurobiological mechanisms underlying psychopathology, and she also is interested in exploring psychopathology from ethological and evolutionary perspectives. Her dissertation is focused on the effects of early life trauma on brain maturation in the functional connectome measured using resting state imaging. Olena is a member of the CAP Lab Neuro Team and she joined the lab in Spring 2015.
Gina (Diagou) Sissoko BA
Gina graduated from Hunter College with a major in Psychology. She is interested in culture-based preventative and risk factors associated with the development of trauma-related disorders. She is also particularly interested in the treatment of PTSD symptoms after sexual trauma, the concept of re-victimization, and brain changes after prolonged childhood sexual abuse. Gina plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology, and she joined the CAP Lab in August 2014.
Erick Fedorenko BA
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Erick graduated from Hunter College with a major in Psychology. He is interested in the neural and physiological mechanisms underlying mood disorders and how these disorders affect cognition and emotional processing. Erick plans to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology with a focus on neuropsychology, and he joined the CAP Lab in August 2015.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Anniesa is a CUNY Macaulay Honors College senior majoring in Psychology at Hunter. She is interested in the neural mechanisms and behavioral effects of stress-related and other neuropsychiatric disorders. She plans to pursue an MD/PhD and specialize in neonatal neuroscience. Anniesa joined the CAP Lab in August 2016.
